SmartKit Console (POS)

This handheld unit, derived from the basic vending unit with the "standard" cardboard, consists of a single circuit board with a small daughter board which houses two security access modules. A full 3x4 keypad is also part of the console. It is used as a portable, handheld payment terminal with a second serial port for interface to a printer or other device.
The combination of industry-standard SmartKit components, sleek handheld design, and numeric keypad open up many possible uses for SmartKit Console (SKC) in the field. SKC is primarily a Point-Of-Sale (POS) device which, like the standard SmartKit, can accept VisaCash, Mondex, the QI Card, and proprietary smart cards.
SKC can be used in any attended POS location, for a multitude of tasks. It can be used in kiosk mode, attached to a cash register as an integrated payment solution, or it can be used as a stand-alone device. It can be used as a value payment terminal, as an access authentication device, and even as a handheld e-cash reload station.
