Engineered specifically for vending machine applications, SmartKit capitalizes on the
modular design of QI Systems Inc.’s latest generation of Cash Card payment systems.
The modular configuration of SmartKit® products enables QI to offer cost effective,
flexible, scalable Cash Card solutions for a greater number of markets. Features such
as loyalty program capability are tailored to meet the requirements of individual clients,
from OEM to Route Operator.
Designed for ease of use, SmartKit features a card acceptor, a user keypad and a
backlit Liquid Crystal Display. Cash Card transactions are quick and simple.
SmartKit will validate the Cash Card and authorize the transaction in just a few seconds.
Depending on the card specification chosen, the card balance before and after the
transaction is easily displayed.
SmartKit® can be installed in most vending machines in use in the United States
and around the world, as well as in new models being manufactured. Once installed
in vending machines, SmartKit® offers significant advantages, including
reduced cash handling, reduced costs related to on-line verification,
automated credit to merchant accounts, increased data gathering and accounting
flexibility, reduced losses from theft and equipment damage from attempted
theft. Smart card payment also allows for pricing flexibility and eliminates
the need and expense for bill validators and handling change.
The SmartKit product line now includes the Hybrid Payment Terminal, which accepts
both smart cards and credit cards. As with all SmartKit products, multiple smart
card schemes can be read, making this terminal prepared for flexible payment acceptance
now and into the future.
Integrating Cash Card payment with existing payment options, SmartKit installs in almost
all vending machines. The use of multiboard architecture has enabled QI to configure
board components compatible with current, custom and future requirements for power
supply, software, data-storage and communications needs.
Our design ensures wide system compatibility and simple future upgrading or expansion
should the support of additional card schemes be required. SmartKit supports VISACash,
Mondex, and additional Cash Cards, as well as proprietary card systems.
